Sophia is half Colombian and half Italian; passion is in her DNA. Her love for skincare and a keen eye for art, fashion-forward design and advanced skin and body treatments began in her childhood. Growing up in an eclectic household, her mom, a world-renown Naturopath, public relations and marketing expert mentored her to be driven by a purpose to help people to look and live their best lives, while having fun and doing good in the world.
Moving frequently and traveling to many countries during her formative years, she learned about different cultures, how to adapt and embrace diversity and the need for socially conscious impact and change. This has given Sophia wisdom beyond her years.
Sophia received her formal paramedical skin care training at Florida College of Natural Health. Shortly after, under the tutelage of Laurie Lombardi CDN, nationally acclaimed TV and film makeup artist, paramedical esthetician, product formulator and Founder of the Apothecary Shoppe and natural compounded skincare products, she learned about the integral connection between nutrition and healthy skin as well as unconventional modalities of healing.
She’s worked at Peace Love Med Spa, Boca Med Spa, Get Refreshed and Bay Harbor Perfection Med Spa before opening her own medical skincare sanctuary called Skincareplug™ Sophia approaches skincare from a unique, holistic perspective with advanced medical aesthetics procedures combined with Astral therapy and meditation to heal the mind and body inside and out. She is only certified aesthetician in the US performing the Heaven Bee Sting Facial certified by Deborah Mitchell’s team in the UK.
Sophia loves music, yoga, dancing, boating, working out, laughter, good friends and has made it her life’s mission to educate herself and help people live and look their best through applying a combination of the best that science and nature has to offer. Her friends and IG fans know her as the skincareplug™. She believes that feeling good in your skin starts within and that your body is a sacred temple that holds and amplifies your spirit.
She is certified in Heaven Bee Sting Facial, Dermaplaning, Advanced Skin Peels, Ultrasonic Cavitation, and trained on all the most advanced treatments such as Hydrafacial MD, Venus Versa, Body Contouring, Teeth Whitening, Radiofrequency, Microdermabrasion, Exilis Elite, and much more. She’s also an adept social and digital marketing maven.
